Hebert “Herb” Fisher, 95, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Aperion Healthcare (McCormicks Creek Nursing Home). Herb was born in Whitehall on November 25, 1926 to George Fisher and Inez (Oliver) Fisher. Herb was raised by his grandfather, Pete Oliver, whom he worked with on the farm. He also worked in different stone mills in his early years. Later in life, he had over 25 years working for Stone Belt Industries and also for Sweet Owen Industries until he was 87. Herb was known by everyone at the nursing home and loved to share stories of those he met through his entire life. He made many friends and would lend a hand or kind word when he saw a need. He loved I.U. Basketball and Football, and treasured the many gifts from his friends.

Herb is survived by his nephews, Donnie (Shirley) Fisher, Dennis (Chris) Fisher and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald O. Fisher, George W. Fisher; and sister-in-law, Norma Fisher.

The family is grateful to the staff at Aperion Care for their kindness and care for Herb over the many years he was a part of their family.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Whitehall Cemetery in Whitehall, Indiana. Dr. Diane Wells will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to the cemetery at 10:00 AM on Thursday until the time of service.

Letters and cards to the family may be sent to West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer.
