Alabama's Nate Oats named SEC Coach of the Year, Herb Jones selected POY

The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday released its men's basketball coaches' postseason awards.Alabama senior Herbert Jones was named SEC Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Alabama's Nate Oats was named SEC Coach of the Year after guiding the Crimson Tide (21-6, 16-2) to a league title. Jones and fellow Tide senior John Petty Jr. were named First-Team All-SEC.
