Alabama forward Herb Jones is a fighter. He battled through a hand injury last year. This season, he’s dealing with a back injury, but he’s still managed to take the court.
However, his effectiveness has been spotty lately, as it’s clear the back injury is impacting his level of play.
On Monday night, coach Nate Oats said on his radio show that Jones participated in practice on Monday as the Tide prepare for a game on Tuesday in South Carolina:
Nate Oats tells @rogerhoover that Herb Jones participated in tonight’s shootaround in Columbia, S.C., and will be rechecked for stiffness in his back Tuesday morning.

Jones isn’t out of the woods yet, though, as Oats said his star player will be re-evaluated on Tuesday morning before the game.
Jones is averaging 11.9 points, 6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
