Alabama men's basketball player Herbert Jones left with an injury during the first half against the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Jones grabbed at his left hand/wrist as he came out of the game with 10:57 left in the first half. Jones did not return to the game.
He collided with Kentucky forward Jacob Toppin going for a shot, and Jones crumpled in the lane.
Alabama men's basketball coach Nate Oats said postgame that Jones suffered a hand injury. "From what I heard, it's not broke," Oats said. He said Jones would be evaluated more Wednesday morning.
Jones had eight points, two assists and one rebound in eight minutes before leaving the game.
In the final minute of the first half, ESPN's Karl Ravech reported during the game broadcast that Jones is questionable to return with a left wrist injury.
When Jones left the game, Alabama led 17-15 against Kentucky. John Petty Jr. replaced him in the lineup.
In the second half, Alabama lost forward Jordan Bruner to a right leg injury.
Alabama defeated Kentucky 85-65.
Alabama, ranked No. 24 in the Ferris Mowers men's basketball coaches poll, improved to 10-3 overall and 5-0 in the SEC. The UK Wildcats went to 4-7 overall and 3-1 in the SEC.
