Pre-tax losses at one of the largest growers of fresh cut and living pot herbs in the UK widened during its latest financial year, new accounts have revealed.
Lincolnshire Herbs operates out of a 50-acre site in Bourne as well as having farms across Europe and Africa and sells its products to major food retailers in the UK.
Newly filed documents for the 12 months to 31 December 2019 show the company's losses went from £358,894 to £573,557 reports www.insidermedia.com
Its turnover went from £17.1m to £17.6m over the same period.
The company is part of the European-headquartered Spisa Group.
A statement signed off by the board said: "We are currently within a period of uncertainty as measures enacted to prevent the spread of Covid-19 have been enforced by worldwide governments.
"This is a risk to both sales and purchasing for the company.
"However as a food producer the business is classed as an essential industry and demand is expected to remain strong."
