LAS CRUCES - Pure Flix/Quality Flix is in the final stages of acquiring international distribution rights to the Optimism Entertainment/Rio Road Entertainment feature Walking with Herb, and will be presenting it at the American Film Market. This inspirational comedy will be released theatrically in the U.S. in March 2021, according to a news release.

Written by Academy Award nominee and Tony Award winner Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser God, Children on Their Birthdays, The Heart Outright) and directed by former Sundance Best Director winner Ross Marks (The Twilight of the Golds, Homage, The Heart Outright), the new film stars Academy Award Nominee Edward James Olmos (Stand and Deliver, Selena, Battlestar Galactica), George Lopez (The George Lopez Show, The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Rio), Academy Award nominee Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13, Breakdown, The Doors), Billy Boyd (The Lord of The Rings) and Christopher McDonald (Requiem for a Dream).

In the style of Heaven Can Wait and Oh God, this uplifting, inspirational comedy follows Joe’s (Edward James Olmos) incredible journey from relative obscurity to competing in "The World Championship Golf Tournament," under the direction of Herb (George Lopez), his ever-present "Angel" and motorcyclist, proving that anything is possible as long as you have faith.
