LOS ANGELES – Lowell Herb Co., one of the fastest-growing cannabis companies in California, announces its National Expungement Week sponsorship. National Expungement Week (N.E.W.), which will occur from September 19-26, 2020,  is a week of action to provide access to relief, equity and opportunity in communities affected by the war on drugs.

“Since founding Lowell and our jobs initiative program, we have made it a priority to partner with social justice movements, focusing especially on repairing the injustices that have occurred due to the prohibition of cannabis,” said David Elias, CEO of Lowell Herb Co. “We’re committed to doing our part and are proud to support nonprofits like Cage-Free Repair and events like National Expungement Week. Expungement improves individual lives, strengthens communities and increases participation in the economy, that benefits everyone.”

Lowell is pleased to release the limited edition Expungement Indica black pack as a part of their N.E.W. sponsorship. Cannabis enthusiasts can support N.E.W. and their work to repair the harms caused by the war on drugs, as a portion of the proceeds will be donated to N.E.W. The Expungement Indica is a pungent blend of Mendo Breath, GMO Cookies and Purple Gorilla Glue.

“We hope that Lowell’s generosity serves as inspiration for the industry and all who benefit economically from cannabis to invest in the movement to heal, repair and provide much-needed support for re-entry,” said Latorie “Torie” Marshall Visionary, Cofounder of N.E.W.

In addition to their sponsorship, the Lowell community will play an active role in the week’s activities. Lowell volunteers will assist with expungement clinics and deliver food to community hubs throughout the week. Lowell plans to accompany their active participation with social media and press efforts to amplify the National Expungement Week message and resources.

N.E.W. 2020 corresponds with National Voter Registration Day, which highlights the need for voting rights restoration. Lowell will also put efforts toward encouraging voter registration and ‘get out the vote’ as the upcoming November election approaches.

The limited-edition Expungement Indica black pack will be available starting September 15th at Airfield in San Jose, People’s OC in Santa Ana, The Circle in Long Beach, Sweet Flower in Los Angeles and other fine Lowell retailers across California.

About National Expungement Week
N.E.W. is a collective of reparative justice advocates and organizers from across the country focused on restoring the rights of the disenfranchised.  Their signature event, National Expungement Week, offers expungement and other forms of legal relief to some of the 77 million Americans across the US with convictions on their records. These convictions can restrict access to housing, employment, education, public assistance, and voting rights long after sentences have been served.  N.E.W. initiatives and events offer as many wraparound services as possible to restore people’s rights and lift up communities. N.E.W. will provide awareness and relief services all year leading up to a week of awareness and action on September 19-26 2020.
