When COVID-19 hit, doctors, nurses, policemen, garbagemen, store clerks, bus drivers, and many others did their jobs. They also had to care for aged parents or spouses with pre-existing conditions. Unlike teachers, who just received pay raises, many workers subsequently took pay cuts or lost jobs. Yet now, in a much safer, crushed curve environment, education unions and their political allies claim it’s “unsafe” to return to classrooms while others work in environments equally or more challenging.
